Understanding the Challenges for Anti Aging Foods

We now know the role of nutrition in health and well-being. The human body is entirely made up of cells. They behave like real small factories and raw materials needed to operate. Its raw materials are the foods we eat and the air we breathe. Throughout life, cells produce waste, which are normally neutralized by the immune system. Poor eating habits and living conditions of our times (too rich foods, pollution, smoking and physical inactivity) are causing a nutritional imbalance that causes many problems:
- Overweight
- Feeling of heaviness
- Fatigue, lack of energy
- Premature development of diseases due to aging.

What is a Balanced Diet?
Our foods are made up of several types of substances the body needs to stay fit healthy. All these substances, called nutrients, are essential, but well-balanced proportions.

Proteins
Proteins consist of amino acids that occur at several levels in the functioning of our body.
Protein plays a role structure that is to say, it involved the architecture of tissues and organs of the body.
They also come into action in the functioning of cells. A protein deficiency can result in deterioration of muscle mass. We can distinguish two types of proteins in our diet:
Animal protein: meat, fish, dairy products and cheeses.
Plant proteins: cereals and legumes. It is important to vary protein intake for each of the different sources provide additional amino acids, essential for the proper functioning of the body.

Carbohydrates
The primary role of carbohydrates is energy intake. They correspond to different types of sugars in our food and are processed by the body into glucose to be used when energy requirements (metabolic function, muscular …)
We distinguish two kinds of carbohydrates:
Simple carbohydrates or sugar fast: they are found in fruits and vegetables (fructose) in products sweetened (sucrose) and milk products (lactose). Their characteristic is to be assimilated quickly by the body.
Complex carbohydrates or carbohydrates: they are found in plant foods (pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, corn, wheat …), it is the starches. The human body produces sugar stocks in the liver and muscles. This sugar becomes what is called glycogen. That is why the carbohydrates are “reserve”.

Lipids
These are the fats in foods. Lipids are the major energy suppliers, they are stored in fatty tissue. Two sources of fat in the diet: Plant: these are oils from plants (peanut, sunflower, olive …). They are rich in unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3 and 6) health benefits. The role of omega 3 and 6 is now recognized for the prevention of disease associated with old age.
Animal: meat, sausages, butter, egg yolk, milk …
Animal fats contain saturated fatty acids. Over consumption of its fat may promote the onset of disorders (cholesterol, cardiovascular).
The proper functioning of our body requires daily intakes of other important nutrients such as vitamins, minerals or trace elements.

A Delicate Balance
In most cases, inputs too important carbohydrates and lipids generate surplus energy to be stored as triglycerides. The body then increases the reserves of body fat there is a risk of overweight. The lack of physical activity and metabolic nature of each individual are also causes fat storage by the body. It is now recognized that an unbalanced diet throughout life has adverse effects on the body, such as pathologies related to aging.
